The Boys

A painting of my 2 boys, Patch and Palico. It had been a while since I had drawn either of them and even longer since I painted them together. Now if any of you have cats I'm sure you know that it would be nigh on impossible to get 2 cats to sit for a photo reference like this. So what I ended up doing was just drawing the poses from memory as I wanted them to be and used a multitude of new and old photos just to try and get their proportions and markings correct!

The ribbons were a challenge, the idea behind the art was that I saw an image of a small decorative plate with two cats wearing fancy ribbons, along with the phrase 'Get the Hell out of our House'. My cats aren't generally a fan of other humans that show up every now and again, so I wanted to do something a bit similar and eventually format it for a funny hallway artwork down the line.
