Fractured Fairytales

My fanart of Zora, the lead singer of the gothic rock band Blackbriar.

The image idea is inspired by their song 'Deadly Nightshade'. I just pictured a storybook opening in my mind to the beginning of the music. That book I thought could be the 'Fractured Fairytales', which is the title of one of their EP's. 

I then thought I should totally paint a pic of Zora reading that book, and so I finally started the portrait of her that I've been wanting to do for years.

My God, everytime I start a portrait of a real person, I kick myself. I find it so hard to paint real people, get their features accurate, and make it so it really looks like them. I don't copy direct from a photo, I try to draw them in a new pose for my creation, so that makes it harder haha. But it's done now, and I was so happy to see that Zora herself shared this on her instagram and facebook. Thank you, Zora!
